Business Development, Operations Manager
The European Project Manager will be directly involved in the European activities of the company, and will work in close collaboration with the Technical and Operations coordinators. The selected candidate will mainly support the Operations Coordinator and other Project Managers in the management of ongoing European projects, contribute to the preparation of new European proposals (mainly under Horizon Europe and related programmes), participate in networking and business development activities, and be directly involved in the preparation of specific project deliverables, including communication, dissemination and social acceptance activities.
According to the candidate’s background (economics, social sciences and humanities, or science and technology), additional responsibilities may be progressively assigned and tasks are expected to evolve together with the company’s future projects.
MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITIONThe candidate will be specifically responsible for the following tasks:
- Project management and implementation
: coordination and monitoring of internal activities, support to project planning and risk management, assistance in formal project communications and coordination, and contribution to periodic technical reporting to the European Commission. - Support to the financial and administrative reporting of European projects, in close collaboration with the company’s financial manager, including support to cost monitoring, timesheets and reporting.
- Development of specific project deliverables
and activities within EU R&D projects, such as:- Market and stakeholder analysis, exploitation and impact plans, data management plans, value propositions, business model and business canvas activities, technology transfer and application assessments.
- Communication, dissemination and social acceptance activities, including organisation of webinars and workshops, preparation of content for project and company websites and social media channels, and contribution to stakeholder engagement and societal impact deliverables.
- Institutional relationships
: support to attend events and find partners (during B2B, F2F and virtual meetings with potential partners and clients), explore cooperation and business opportunities interesting for the company, in line with its core activities. - New proposals management, writing and submission
: supporting the Technical coordinator and the technical team in writing project proposals to which the company takes part as a partner and/or as coordinator and coordinating all the associated steps.
The candidate will carry out these activities in different and cross-cutting sectors aligned with the current and future European research and innovation strategy. The potential areas of activity include (but are not limited to): renewable energy and fuels, advanced sustainable materials, bio-based products and bioeconomy, waste valorisation and industrial symbiosis, sustainable mobility, environmental management, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
KEY REQUIREMENTS/ EXPERIENCE- At least 2 years of professional experience as EU project manager or project assistant, or in a similar position.
- Proven experience in the implementation of European projects and preparation of project deliverables.
- Previous involvement in the preparation of European project proposals.
- Good knowledge of European funded programmes, in particular Horizon Europe.
- Strong interest and willingness to actively contribute to communication, dissemination and social acceptance activities within EU projects.
- Excellent command of English and Spanish (C1 level minimum in both).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and adapt to different sectors.
- Ready to face new challenges, able to work under pressure and used to EU deadlines, ability to work effectively as a member of a team, flexibility, and high motivation.
