Job Description
The Facility Program Assistant will be responsible for the maintenance of the new Dacula Park Recreation Center. The role involves performing general janitorial duties, facility maintenance, setting up/breaking down for special events, classes, rentals, and programs. This position requires the incumbent to have good communication skills and the ability to monitor activities inside and outside of the facility.
- Opening/closing of the facility
- Performing daily/weekly/monthly checks to ensure proper maintenance of the building
- Submitting work orders and ordering supplies
- Assisting with program planning and facilitation
- Providing administrative support by maintaining maintenance records, safety documents, and basic reports
- Assisting customers, citizens, co‑workers, and contractors with general questions and concerns regarding event/rental information and/or facility maintenance repair
- Assisting with programming duties by answering phone calls, processing registration fees, completing rental and program contracts, and reviewing rental documents for accuracy
- Cash handling responsibilities
- Maintaining the facility equipment
- Overseeing work performed by inmates and volunteers
- Maintaining and ordering related inventory of janitorial and maintenance supplies and corresponding Safety Data Sheets
- Performing all other duties as assigned
- Ongoing interaction with the public, user groups and co‑workers
Job Requirements / Information
- This job may require a variety of hours, including weekends, daytime, evenings and/or holidays.
- This job will require a background check and fingerprinting as part of the state DECAL requirement once hired.
- The grade for this position is B21(2). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED AND
- Two years of facility and grounds maintenance or related recreation support experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Driver's License
- CPR (within 6 months of employment)
