The King’s Daughters' School is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to create a positive, goal‑oriented learning environment for students with developmental disabilities.
Position Highlights- Work alongside a classroom assistant in a supportive team environment
- No IEP writing required – dedicated staff handles all IEP documentation
- Focus on what you do best: teaching and connecting with students
- 1:4 Staff/student ratio
- Monday‑Friday schedule (40 hours/week)
- Create a warm, inviting classroom that promotes student success
- Develop and implement individualized goals using formal and informal assessments
- Collect student progress data and adjust instruction accordingly
- Mentor classroom assistants and model best practices
- Manage classroom behavior using evidence‑based techniques
- TN Teaching License with SPED endorsement
- Must pass background checks and drug screen
- Ability to lift 40 lbs., kneel/bend for extended periods, and respond quickly in emergencies.
- TB skin test required upon hire
- Eligible for benefits including time off and insurance after 60 days
