Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and proficiency with dental software systems. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional dental services, including general dentistry procedures. The Registered Dental Hygienist will be responsible for providing comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health care while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Duties- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to prevent and treat periodontal disease
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral health evaluations
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays using appropriate infection control protocols
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies
- Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings
- Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR platforms
- Experience in general dentistry
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and documentation review processes
- Strong understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics
- Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medical imaging procedures, and protocols
- Prior dental office or clinic experience is highly desirable but not required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
