Position: HVAC Controls Technician
Apply basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work involves Building Automation systems to set up, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate electronic components for EMCS (Energy Management Control System) computer control. Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems and equipment. Building Automation requires a thorough understanding of Psychometrics, including the psychometric chart as it relates to air temperature and humidity.
Recognize probable interactions of related programs and be familiar with related system software and computer equipment. The programs developed or modified are typically linked to other programs, with outputs serving as inputs for others. Solve conventional programming problems. This position may also provide technical guidance to lower-level Programmers, Technicians, and Mechanics.
Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 (DOE) plus employer-paid insurance!

Key Responsibilities- Monitor and adjust heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment
- Design and implement modifications to program files and records in collaboration with higher-level staff
- Monitor program operation and respond to issues by diagnosing and correcting errors
- Implement and maintain scientific programming projects, applying established techniques to mathematical, statistical, engineering, or scientific problems
- Work independently with specified objectives
- Apply judgment in devising program logic and selecting procedures
- Resolve problems according to established practices
- Understanding of Psychometrics and related charts
- Recognize interactions of related programs and be familiar with system software and hardware
- Knowledge of troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment
- Knowledge of energy management systems and HVAC systems
- Practices workplace safety, including PPE use
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience with EMCS electronic components and HVAC systems
- Experience with control system installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and replacement
- Proficiency with Johnson Controls Facility Explorer (Niagara
4), CCT, Metasys, Distech platforms; familiarity with Alerton, Inet, Hvac Pro (N2) a plus - Ability to obtain N4 Certification if not already certified
- EPA Universal Refrigeration License
- Dependable attendance, valid driver’s license, ability to pass drug screening and background check, U.S. citizenship
- Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Use of hands, reaching, talking, walking
- Prolonged sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, stooping
- Climb ladders and enter confined spaces
- Work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures and weather conditions
