Engineer 4 – Security and Electronic Systems (SES) Business Unit

We are seeking an Engineer 4 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit, you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.

Responsibilities

The Engineer provides system programming and management support for large‑scale networking infrastructures. Responsibilities include the administration and maintenance of high‑performance computer configurations as well as other systems and peripherals; participation in system integration projects, system performance analyses, problem resolution, and system security initiatives; development of system management tools; and collaboration with other departments to provide a comprehensive support infrastructure for commercial, corporate and governmental users.

  • Maintain system documentation and maintenance records and generate weekly and/or monthly summary status reports.
  • Spend 4 to 6 hours per week staying current on industry trends and available products and services.
  • Perform staging and setup as needed for project support and for self‑instruction.
  • Work closely with Systems Engineers to install and configure networks based on an Installation Design Package (IDP) that satisfies the customer’s needs.
  • Research equipment from a multitude of manufacturers to resolve technical issues during installation and testing.
  • Work closely with Design Department to identify and correct design problems during the design cycle.
  • Suggest process improvements and cost savings to aid Implementation Department for future installs.
  • Provide systems support for a large‑scale, high‑performance computing center to include the installation and management of computer systems, workstations, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces; monitor system usage and evaluate performance against defined goals.
  • Provide designs for automation systems including a list of quantities and types of materials used.
  • Provide user guideline documentations and manuals for end‑user programs and applications.
  • Work within a lab environment, learning different IT and ESS systems.
Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type:
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information. No clearance is needed.

Education/Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with 7+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity, with the provision of SE services for physical security system and IT solutions.
  • Obtain a Security+ within 6 months.
