Accounting Manager​/Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client's manufacturing team in Columbia, South Carolina. This role involves managing daily accounting operations, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and manage the general ledger accounting team across multiple sites, ensuring efficient operations.

- Provide guidance and career development opportunities to team members, including performance evaluations and goal-setting.

- Organize training sessions for both new and existing accounting staff to enhance skills and knowledge.

- Ensure financial reporting aligns with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.

- Oversee the month-end close process, including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.

- Conduct thorough reviews of balance sheets and trial balances during close periods.

- Identify and implement process improvements for accounting practices, including automation initiatives.

- Maintain and strengthen internal controls for financial reporting in coordination with the Regional Controller and Internal Audit team.

- Support quarterly analytics and reporting for legal entity and divisional profit and loss statements and balance sheets.

- Coordinate responses to audit requests from internal and external auditors in collaboration with the team.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in general accounting, with prior experience in managing accounting personnel preferred.

- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

- Familiarity with accounting practices in a manufacturing environment.

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

- Knowledge of One Stream software is a plus.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong organizational abilities and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset focused on team development.
