Managers In Training will learn how to successfully manage the day‑to‑day responsibilities of running an EG America convenience store location from our finest leaders. You will spend time with a Training Manager and Supervising Manager during training, working various shifts to learn about our company, our retail team, our vendors, and our guests. This role supports the Store Manager and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience.
TrainingProcess
During official training weeks, Managers In Training work alongside Training Managers, gaining insight and best practices for managing a convenience store location. During supervisory weeks, they work a variety of shifts alongside team members, putting their leadership training into practice. After training, they become part of our bench leadership team, helping to fill in during absences until assigned to their own store.
What You’ll Do- Greet guests with a warm welcome and a smile to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assist the Store Manager with building and developing a strong store team: training, scheduling, and coaching team members; setting clear goals and communicating effectively.
- Monitor product levels, rotate stock, and keep shelves fully stocked.
- Oversee quality control, merchandising, and food safety programs in locations that offer hot food.
- Maintain store cleanliness—inside, outside, coffee station, food service area, and bathrooms.
- Operate the cash register efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or District Manager.
High School or GED.
Preferred EducationNone specified.
Minimum Experience1 year of retail or food experience.
Preferred Experience1 year in retail, guest service, or restaurant in a leadership role.
Preferred Licenses/Certifications and SkillsServ Safe / Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory.
Soft Skills- Comfortable talking and interacting with guests and team members.
- High energy.
- Ability to move quickly between activities.
- Team oriented; willing to give extra effort to help others.
- Computer skills are helpful.
Full‑time, variety of hours day and night, weekends & holidays required.
Hours & ConditionsFull‑time – 40 regular hours maximum with 5 hours overtime required.
Travel5% travel; ability to deliver deposits to the bank independently and have own vehicle where required.
Physical RequirementsAbility to maneuver, lift up to 10 lb, frequently lift up to 25 lb, occasionally lift up to 40 lb; stand/walk 8 hrs/day; reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, grasp; work in cooler temperatures; moderate noise level.
OtherSpecialized attire required in food establishments (hats or visors, gloves provided).
