Job Description Summary
The Lead Facility Attendant will work under the general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor of ARC Operations and the Recreation Superintendent. Primary hours will be evenings and weekends, with opportunities to cross-train and occasional mornings.
The Lead Facility Attendant will: supervise the facility according to established policies and guidelines.
The lead attendant may be stationed to monitor a specific area, such as the gym or lobby;
Or they may monitor the overall building by viewing and making rounds through the entry area, gym area, hallways, fitness area, etc.
Lead attendants are expected to enforce discipline policy as appropriate; review meeting room reservations and provide set-up/clean-up as necessary; give direction to and support part time staff; handle patron concerns or issues using effective customer service skills; report all accidents and see that patrons receive proper care; provide a safe, healthy and sanitary facility; open, close and secure building at the appropriate time;
secure cash and provide change to staff as needed; communicate to supervisor any problems or challenges experienced during scheduled shifts; and will perform other duties as assigned.
Employees in this position must have good judgment, work ethic, and effective communication. Their work is subject to frequent inspection and review by supervisory personnel through one-on-one meetings and attendance reports.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must: be at least 21 years of age, possess and maintain a valid Missouri Driver's license; management or supervisory training preferred; must be able to stay calm during emergency or disciplinary situations; customer service experience required; must be able to physically handle setting up meeting rooms, cleaning facility, etc.; have the desire to work with individuals of all ages; attend mandatory staff meetings;
follow dress code policy; have the ability to work independently; be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays; and must have an exemplary attendance record.
