Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in an integrated medicine unit with a focus on at-risk patients and enhanced safety features.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 24-bed integrated medicine Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting

• Patient population includes at-risk individuals requiring enhanced safety protocols

• Unit equipped with whole-unit video monitoring, ligature alarms, anti-barricade doors, and badge-secured entry

• Night shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30), with rotating shifts and holiday coverage required

• Every other weekend required

• Floating to other units required

• Use of Cerner EMR preferred but not required

• Responsible for comprehensive nursing care of at-risk medical and surgical patients

• Must work at least 50 percent of holidays occurring during the contract

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Unit open 24/7 with required work during inclement weather

• Required to provide requested time off (RTO) details during the application process

• Candidates within a 75-mile radius are considered local and offered a reduced rate

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

• Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in Med/Surg

• Experience in a trauma level I hospital preferred

• Physical ability to frequently ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing over 20 lbs

• Comfort with patient care in an environment with contagious illnesses
