PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Custodial Services Training Supervisor, work with new and existing custodial staff in training on appropriate cleaning methods, procedures, and practices; proper use of cleaning tools, supplies, and equipment; and on the importance of workplace safety and approved working methods.
Monday-Friday 3:00 PM-11:30 PM with a 30 mins break.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assist the Custodial Services Training Supervisor on training programs within the Custodial Department.
- Train new and existing employees in the proper and approved techniques associated with the District's Custodial Services Program; provide direction and guidance to custodial employees and inspect completed work for accuracy, completeness and compliance with established standards and procedures; develop training plans for improvement where needed.
- Instruct and demonstrate the proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment, cleaning tools, and supplies.
- Provide instruction of SDS information, Blood Borne Pathogens, personal protective equipment, safety precautions and procedures, and proper lifting techniques.
- Provide instruction of proper sanitizing procedures of restrooms and most touched surfaces; effects of germs, bacteria, and viruses; provide training and instruction of proper techniques of cleaning restrooms both by hand and restroom-cleaning machines.
- Assist in monitoring the usage of custodial materials, supplies, and equipment; maintain various records related to work performed.
- Assist with custodial training records and the production of training materials, instructional programs, and written custodial services manual.
- Assist with the update of District Custodial Safety Data Sheets
- Provide instruction of proper storage and cleanliness of custodial equipment, tools, and supplies in building areas; check and test new and existing custodial products, equipment, and supplies for use by custodial employees and make recommendations for replacement or improvement.
- Provide training for custodial employees in proper floor maintenance to include cleaning, burnishing, floor refinishing, and carpet cleaning procedures.
- Review and assess current custodial practices and method and make recommendations for improving efficiency and quality of services.
- Assist in monitoring the usage of custodial materials, supplies, and equipment; maintain various records related to work performed; meet schedules and timelines.
- Understand and adhere to Board policies and procedures.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports To: Custodial Services Training Supervisor
Supervises: None
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: Must be able to follow written and oral instructions;
One (1) year custodial experience with CPS, or equivalent; knowledge of carpet, tile and concrete floor maintenance; knowledge of restrooms, shower and locker room cleaning and maintenance; knowledge of cleaning agents and materials. Have general knowledge of basic operating, cleaning and troubleshooting of custodial equipment, general knowledge of heating and air conditioning units.
Preferred: High School Diploma
