Description:

This is a 42-bed unit.
Floating is required.
The nurse will be responsible for caring for 5-6 patients during the day and 6 patients  nursing team consists of nurse/tech teams, with a nurse responsible for assessments and medications.
The techs will manage lab draws, assistance with ambulation, and hourly rounding.
A nurse navigator is assigned to help with admissions and discharges.
The physical demands of this role include ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.
The nurse will routinely come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
This position is active and requires the ability to work in a healthcare facility open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Rotating shifts, as well as work on holidays and during inclement weather, will be required.
Essential job functions include the ability to work throughout the full term of the engagement, the ability to work the entirety of the assigned shift, the ability to take call, and the ability to work at least 50 percent of the holidays during the contract.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary services.
Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
The daily census is approximately 30 patients.
Specialties in patient diagnoses include post-operative orthopedic cases, trauma, orthopedic spine, medicine, and plastics.
Special procedures and equipment include continuous passive motion machines and ceiling lifts.
The nursing role requires strong skills in a variety of medical and surgical care areas, including telemetry, wound care, and post-operative care.
The nurse will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and managing various medical devices and protocols.
