We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer‑based systems. You will work closely with other engineers to create solutions that meet client needs.

• Strong working knowledge and experience developing Java‑based software capabilities

• Security clearance: current Secret‑level U.S. Government Security Clearance required; U.S. Citizenship required
• 9+ years of experience as a software engineer designing, developing, and deploying complex backend systems and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 7 years experience with a Master’s, or high school diploma with 13 years experience
• Experience working in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1‑2 days per week at the Columbia, MD office

• Experience designing enterprise APIs
• Experience with RESTful web services
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with object‑oriented programming paradigms
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work well independently and in a team setting
• Experience with Linux operating system
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Git, Nexus, Maven

• Experience with cloud‑based technologies AWS and Azure
• Experience with distributed databases No
  
  SQL databases and full‑text search engines such as Elasticsearch, Mongo
  
  DB, Solr
• Proficiency in scripting
• Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites such as JIRA, Confluence, Git Hub Enterprise
