Polaris is currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will work closely with other talented engineers to create software solutions that meet the needs of our clients. The role is hybrid, with 60% onsite at our customer site in Columbia Annex, MD.

Anticipated Salary Range:
Senior Level;9-13 years of experience: $184,000 - $196,000. This range represents Polaris’ good faith estimate of the salary for this position, based on the role’s location, scope of responsibilities, and market benchmarks. Final compensation will be determined at the time of offer and may vary depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s relevant education, certifications, years of experience, specialized skills, and internal equity considerations.

• Must also possess strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines.

• Security Clearance - A current Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance is required with the ability to obtain TS/SCI level clearance; U.S. Citizenship required. A current TS/SCI is a huge plus.
• At least 9 years of experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g. Spring, Guava) and a Bachelors in related field; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
• Experience in RESTful web services.
• Experience in Microservices architecture.
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms.
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle.
• Has a proven ability to learn quickly and works well both independently as well as in a team setting.
• Experience with the Linux operating system.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Git, Nexus, Maven).
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment with 60% onsite at our customer site in Columbia Annex, MD. However, flexibility is essential to accommodate any changes in the schedule.

• A current TS/SCI is preferred. CI Poly is a plus.
• Experience with NiFi, Kafka, AWS Infrastructure, and K8's.
• Experience in cloud based technologies (AWS, Azure).

• Scripting experience is a huge plus.
