Experience:

- Required:

Current experience with recovery of post-operative cardiac surgery patients in a dedicated Cardiovascular ICU.
- Must have trained and worked in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit receiving patients directly from the Operating Room.

License: RN License

Certifications:

BLS

Must-Have:

- Experience with ventilators, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, and titration of vasoactive drips.

- Experience with Level 1 Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).

Description:

The Cardiovascular Surgical ICU is an 18-bed unit providing care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, the placement of ventricular assist devices, and other complex procedures.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2.
