Bridges to Housing Stability, Inc. ("Bridges") is a mid-sized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Howard County, MD. Bridges’ mission is to provide a path to self-sufficiency to prevent and end homelessness through affordable housing solutions and advocacy in Howard County. For 35 years, Bridges has provided effective services, affordable housing, and compelling advocacy for people in Howard County, Maryland, who are experiencing homelessness or are in danger of becoming homeless.

Reporting to a 15-member Board of Directors and overseeing a staff of 20, the Bridges Executive Director provides overall leadership, vision, and direction of all activities to ensure accomplishment of the organization’s mission and strategic initiatives. The Executive Director will cultivate a positive internal culture, enhance programmatic impact and innovation, develop and maintain key business, funding, and community partnerships, enhance financial sustainability, and advocate for strategic growth.
This person will be the face of Bridges and will be called upon to promote and increase the visibility of the Bridges’ brand.
As the next Executive Director of Bridges to Housing Stability, you will partner closely with the Board to advance a shared strategic vision and strengthen the organization’s presence in the evolving affordable housing and homeless services landscape. You bring at least five years of executive or senior nonprofit management experience (or highly relevant equivalent experience) and are a mission-driven, relationship-centered leader who can connect staff, the Board, community partners, and other stakeholders around our vision and values.
You are prepared to guide Bridges through changes in political, programmatic, and funding environments, using data to measure impact and drive innovation. You excel at framing issues, making strategic decisions, ensuring timely execution, and developing the people you lead.
Salary Range: $125,000 -- $130,000
Key Responsibilities- Fiscal Management
:
Ensure the organization’s financial health through strong fiscal oversight, meeting or exceeding established financial goals, and maintaining practices that support long-term sustainability. - Fiscal Management

Lead the development of the annual operating budget in collaboration with key staff and the Executive Committee, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and programmatic goals. - Fiscal Management

Monitor financial performance throughout the year; authorize expenditures within the Board-approved budget; and provide timely, accurate updates to the Finance Committee on budget trends, risks, and opportunities. - Fiscal Management

Oversee all financial compliance activities by working closely with the accountant and auditors to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and best practices. - Fiscal Management

Strengthen financial systems, policies, and procedures to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability across the organization. - Fundraising And Development
