Location: Columbia, MD
Work Schedule: Hybrid (Tuesday–Thursday in office; Monday & Friday remote)
Pay Rate: $40/hour
We are seeking an Associate Project Manager to support customer deployments within the telecommunications/wireless space. This role will partner closely with a Lead Project Manager on large customer deployments and may also serve as the lead Project Manager on regional or non-traditional customer projects.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicative, and comfortable managing multiple project components across engineering, construction, and regulatory workflows.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and/or lead customer deployment projects across one or more applications, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed-upon timelines, customer expectations, and company policies
Manage and coordinate all phases of deployment from project entry through construction completion and closeout, including:
Structural analysis
Site acquisition
Architecture & Engineering (A&E) services
Land use planning, zoning, and permitting
Lease administration
Construction management
Proactively communicate schedule, scope, or cost risks to the District Manager, Lead Project Manager, and customers
Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to obtain and maintain required project documentation, including:
Structural analyses
Leases and titles
Permits and regulatory approvals
Soil samples and construction documentation
Manage vendors and service providers as applicable
Maintain accurate project forecasts and update Project Management Tools with initial and revised timelines
Participate in internal and external deployment meetings and interface with carrier representatives as needed
Resolve design and site challenges as they arise, including lease constraints, easement issues, or additional ground space requirements
Coordinate with utilities and other stakeholders as required
Communicate effectively across multiple internal functions and external partners
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent relevant work experience
1–3 years of project management experience
Knowledge of telecommunications and wireless project management
Familiarity with asset management, tower maintenance, and property management
Understanding of site acquisition processes, including zoning, permitting, and regulatory approvals
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand tower and rooftop structural details
Strong analytical skills to identify workflow issues, critical paths, and corrective actions
Ability to understand financial metrics and identify potential cost risks or remedies
Strong customer service mindset with a proactive problem-solving approach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of construction services, including:
Telecommunications infrastructure
Power and fiber
Vendor equipment requirements
Towers, antennas, and transmission lines
Ability to collaborate across multiple internal teams and external partners
Office-based work approximately 80% of the time in a standard office environment
Up to 20% travel to project sites, which may involve exposure to heavy equipment and varying environmental conditions
