Practice Manager - Cat & Dog Hospital of Columbia

Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, the Practice Manager manages all essential business functions in veterinary practice and supports the practice teams. In partnership with the Managing Doctor (MDVM), the Practice Manager ensures successful practice operations, high client satisfaction, profitability, and business growth while protecting the practice legacy. The critical focus areas include Practice Operations, HR, Marketing, Strategic Planning, and IT Management.

The Practice Manager must be a strong people manager with great business acumen and enjoy leading and developing a team, ensuring engaged, productive teams that support high‑quality patient care and exceptional client service.

Position is a growth hire to work with the current Practice Manager on a smooth transition pending her retirement. The role focuses on change management and creating a positive culture in the office, challenging the norm and collaborating with the MDVM to inject positive change and growth of the practice.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manages practice financial performance, putting plans in place and engaging teams around activities that drive revenue for growth.
  • Manages practice expenses including pharmacy, supplies, labour, and facility.
  • Ensures appropriate inventory management, including an appropriate balance of regular stock and sales.
  • Manages and partners with MDVM to ensure accurate pricing is applied.
