Scope of PositionUnder the direction of the Senior Project Manager or Director – Project Management, the Assistant Project Manager II is responsible for managing all aspects and phases of one or more solar EPC projects and programs. The role primarily involves collaboration with project stakeholders such as owners, utilities, landowners, municipalities, developers, consultants, subcontractors, and other project partners as well as internal resources such as engineering and construction professionals.
The Assistant Project Manager II will deliver project schedule, scope management, cost performance, quality requirements, and safety objectives while maintaining a cooperative relationship with all partners and meeting corporate goals. This position carries P&L accountability.
This position is a hybrid role based in either our Columbia, MD or West Lebanon, NH offices. Remote may be considered for exceptional candidates located in select east coast/mid‑Atlantic states.
Salary RangeThe full pay range for this role is $93,400 – $155,700 per year. The target range for this position is $95,000 to $125,000 per year, based on internal equity, experience, education, and location.

- Oversee and manage one or more company projects on time, on budget, and in compliance with all health, safety, contract, quality, and legal requirements. Lead the project team—including engineers, coordinators, superintendents, and external partners—in project delivery and subcontractor management.
- Manage budget, expenses, and schedules using MS Project or Primavera P6. Accurately forecast costs, manage subcontractor payments, and handle project billings.
- Implement and manage health and safety programs for each project, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and contract requirements.
- Secure and maintain approvals from customers, interconnection providers, and local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs); ensure timely submittals.
- Report on project status to internal and external stakeholders; update progress on the company project management platform.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Project Manager or Director – Project Management.
- BA/BS in Construction Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical preferred), or related discipline.
- Five to seven years of progressive experience in construction project engineering or project management, including roles such as Assistant Project Manager I, Project Engineer III, or Project Superintendent.
- General understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, codes, design‑build contracts, and construction methods.
- Preferred experience with utility‑scale photovoltaic systems greater than 25 MW.
- Preferred experience with substations and/or solar interconnects into substations.
- Experience with land development and project financial closing requirements.
- Preferred experience with large‑scale cut‑and‑fill earthwork or landfill construction.
- Required experience with subcontracting industrial or large commercial electrical work.
- Understanding of contract language and negotiations.
- Knowledge of project cost accounting and tracking.
