Network Engineer, Cybersecurity, IT Project Manager
About the Role
The Network Manager will be responsible for managing network infrastructure, ensuring network reliability and performance, and leading a team of network engineers and administrators.
Responsibilities- Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network engineers and administrators.
- Assign tasks, set goals, and ensure the team meets performance and project deadlines.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Network Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute network-related projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand and meet their network requirements.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Implement and manage network monitoring tools and protocols.
- Conduct root cause analysis of network outages and implement corrective actions.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Manage relationships with network equipment vendors and service providers.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Generate regular network performance and status reports for senior management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+, or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network engineering or network management, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering network projects.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools.
- Experience with cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
