Purposeand Overview
eSimplicity is seeking a Business Development Director who can synthesize U.S. Army customer needs, data and IT modernization priorities, market trends, company capabilities, and relevant policies into effective account development strategies and plans. This role collaborates closely with growth team members, technology leaders, and program staff, and requires a strong customer success mindset to clearly articulate Army mission challenges and position eSimplicity’s capabilities to support current and future data and IT modernization objectives.
Responsibilities- Lead the company's account management for U.S. Army–focused DoD business development to include pipeline management and curation with emphasis on data lifecycle, data management and analytics, software development, low-code/no-code platforms, cloud modernization, and AI-enabled capabilities
- Lead and support new business development initiatives to grow and diversify the company’s Army-focused portfolio, including development of marketing strategies and structured customer engagement plans
- Develop and execute strategic and tactical customer engagement, shaping, and qualification plans to support capture of priority Army programs and task orders
- Gather, analyze, and apply market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive assessments to inform targeted pursuits and Army-aligned go-to-market strategies
- Participate in bid/no-bid decisions, development of pricing and cost strategies, and lead or support opportunity phase reviews in accordance with Army acquisition processes
- Establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships with Army stakeholders, program offices, and mission partners while assessing competitor capabilities and positioning
- Support the development and execution of multi-year Army business development and account strategies aligned with modernization priorities
- Contribute to research and development (R&D) and bid and proposal (B&P) planning efforts to advance Army data and IT modernization objectives
- Provide oversight and direction to business development and marketing personnel to ensure execution of a cohesive go-to-market strategy aligned with corporate capabilities, including planning and execution of industry events and trade show participation that supports overall business development objectives
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to business development and capture staff supporting Army pursuits
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or business-related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant business development experience supporting U.S. Army and Department of Defense programs, with demonstrated depth in Army mission, operational, and acquisition environments
- Proven experience delivering technology solutions to the Federal Government, with emphasis on Army data, IT, and modernization initiatives
- Demonstrated track record of successfully leading and winning large-scale Army or DoD contract awards valued at $50M or greater
- Ability to identify, establish, and leverage strategic relationships with senior Army leaders, Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Program Managers (PMs), contracting officials, and other key stakeholders across the defense and intelligence communities
