System Engineer (SE), Level 3 (SE3) – TS/SCI w/ Poly

Location: Columbia, MD
Compensation Range: $200,000 – $235,000 (annualized USD)
Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph

Description

Join a fast‑paced, high‑impact engineering team as a System Engineer (SE3) supporting advanced mobile automation and testing initiatives. In this role, you will work hands‑on with customers and technical stakeholders to automate, manage, and operationalize mission‑critical mobile devices, infrastructure, and dataflows.

You will be at the forefront of integrating mobile technologies that directly support operational success. This position combines deep technical execution with systems‑level thinking, requiring creative problem solving to reduce operational complexity and improve automation across mobile workflows. The environment is highly collaborative and agile, offering clear visibility into the real‑world impact of your work.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot highly complex, business‑critical dataflows supporting operational users.

  • Coordinate with Operations and Engineering teams to enable end‑to‑end automation and testing capabilities.

  • Collaborate with customers, analysts, and technical stakeholders to support mobile automation initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with enterprise data consumers and repository stakeholders.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality and integrity issues across systems and tools.

  • Develop, document, and communicate complex operational concepts clearly and concisely.

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive test plans.

  • Produce and maintain documentation for tool development, system integrations, and testing activities.

  • Support operational scenarios and monitor systems as they transition into production.

  • Track and monitor deployed systems and dataflows to ensure system stability, performance, and reliability.

Skills Requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.

  • Extensive experience working directly with customers and cross‑functional teams.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and explain complex system interactions, dataflows, and automation concepts.

  • Experience using system documentation and visualization tools such as Confluence, Gliffy, Visio, or similar.

  • Experience guiding system development and implementation planning, including system engineering management plans.

  • Experience supporting the development of system and functional requirements and allocating them across hardware, software, facilities, and personnel.

  • Experience automating test cases using software tools and system frameworks.

  • Experience working in agile environments with continuous delivery of capabilities.

  • Experience supporting operational systems and monitoring production deployments.

Nice to Haves
  • Experience with mobile platforms, applications, and mobile software ecosystems.

  • Background developing, integrating, or troubleshooting complex distributed software systems.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and Dev Ops practices.

Education & Experience Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline and 12+ years of relevant professional experience
    OR

  • 16+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree

Compensation & Employment Policy

Salary is determined by several factors, including location, education, experience, technical skill set, and contract‑specific requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $200,000 – $235,000 (annualized USD).
