Piper Companies is seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to join the corporate division of a leading healthcare organization based in Columbia, MD
. This full-time, expert-level role follows a hybrid schedule (2 days onsite) and focuses on enterprise-level database architecture, security, and ETL development to support critical business operations.
- Design and implement scalable, secure database solutions.
- Optimize ETL processes and support BI/data warehousing.
- Collaborate across teams to align database strategies with business needs.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and conduct root cause analysis.
- Define and enforce data security standards.
- Mentor DBA team members and contribute to project delivery.
- Maintain documentation and engage in ongoing professional development.
- 10–12 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016–2019).
- Strong TSQL, Power Shell, and SSIS/DTS skills.
- Experience with high availability (Always On, replication).
- Proficiency in Power BI and Windows Server.
- Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with Azure SQL, data protection tools (Comm Vault, Rubrik, Veeam), and HIPAA-compliant data.
- Familiarity with VMware, Active Directory, and enterprise storage (Cisco, Net App, Pure Storage).
- Knowledge of Agile, Dev Ops, and ITIL processes.
- Active Directory experience.
- Familiarity with server and storage hardware (Cisco, Net App, Pure Storage).
- Experience using RDBMS constructs and OS authentication for access provisioning.
- Salary Range: $ - $ annually, commensurate with experience.
