Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Security & GRC Analyst to join our CPA firm’s cybersecurity team. This role involves ensuring the security of financial data, tax-related client records, and internal systems while maintaining compliance with IRS regulations and industry security standards. The ideal candidate will play a key role in protecting the firm’s client portal, managing cloud security, providing user training to accountants, and implementing security best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Client Portal & Data Security – Ensure the security and compliance of the firm’s client portal, used for secure document sharing between accountants and clients.
- Implement access control policies, encryption, and monitoring to protect sensitive client tax data.
- Monitor API calls and security events using AWS Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch, and Event Bridge for anomaly detection in the client portal.
- Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) in a CPA Environment – Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in tax filing systems and financial data storage.
- Ensure compliance with IRS-related security regulations, NIST 2.0, and best practices for financial data protection.
- Assist in drafting and maintaining security policies, technical documentation, and compliance reports specific to tax and financial data.
- Oversee device security and proper offboarding for employees handling sensitive financial data.
- User Security Awareness & IT Support – Develop and conduct cybersecurity training for accountants and staff, focusing on phishing prevention, secure document handling, and access control.
- Provide IT security support, including network troubleshooting, secure access configurations, and endpoint management (Zoho MDM).
- Assist employees with secure authentication methods (Duo-MFA) and data security best practices.
- Manage IAM policies, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and Network ACLs to ensure secure cloud operations.
- Secure cloud-based financial applications by enforcing least-privilege access and logging security events.
- Support logging, monitoring, and dashboarding efforts to improve security visibility.
- Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Cloud Security, or Computer Science with a focus on Cybersecurity.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, or related fields. Experience in financial data security or familiarity with security best practices in tax/accounting environments is a plus.
- Cloud Security Expertise: AWS services including IAM, Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch, Lambda, Event Bridge, NSGs, and NACLs.
- Endpoint & Network Security:
Experience with Zoho MDM, Duo-MFA, and secure file sharing controls. - Governance & Compliance:
Knowledge of IRS-related security requirements, NIST 2.0, policy drafting, and risk assessments. - IT Support & User Training:
Proficiency in network troubleshooting, security awareness training for accountants, and secure authentication practices. - Technical Documentation & Security Operations:
Strong ability to create detailed documentation and support security operations. - Multilingual Proficiency:
Fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati to communicate with a diverse team effectively and client base.
