Overview
The Senior HR Business Partner plays a critical role in aligning HR initiatives with business goals. Serving as a strategic partner between HR and business units, this position focuses on organizational development, change management, employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. This is a hybrid position, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance of our Columbia, MD facility.
Responsibilities- Provide onboarding support through content creation, coordination, and ongoing maintenance of materials and processes.
- Assist with workforce planning, staffing needs, recruitment tracking, and hiring activities.
- Develop and maintain a job skills matrix for all position categories, outlining required skills, competencies, and qualifications for each level.
- Support employee engagement programs and related initiatives.
- Assess organizational training needs and evaluate the effectiveness and utilization of learning resources.
- Ensure adherence to organizational, state, and federal compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up‑to‑date employee records across all HR systems.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including new hire processing, employee changes, and terminations.
- Oversee travel risk management processes and support related compliance and safety protocols.
- Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
- HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
- Deep knowledge of employment laws and government compliance regulations.
- Experience supporting Federal Government Programs.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, charts & graphs).
- Experience with HRIS (ADP preferred), SAP and Deltek.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Detailed and process oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to multi‑task.
- Ability to travel 10 – 15%.
- To be considered, candidates must reside in the US and have permanent work authorization.
The total compensation for this position is $71K-$95K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
