Mercy's Institute for Gynecologic Care is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Tech to work at our Columbia office. This position performs all ultrasound exams/procedures as ordered by our referring physicians. Position is accountable for all peripheral activities associated with each test/procedure, e.g. , educating patient and family members, validating order and ordering physician, completing all paperwork, completing all Meditech entries, transferring images, and ensuring that ordering physicians receive final results.

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be a graduate of an Ultrasound accredited program with ARDMS certification.
  • 3 years experience in general sonography.
• Certification Requirements:
  • ARDMS – American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
  • Healthcare Provider Level CPR
• Age Specific Care Provided For:
  • Pediatrics
  • Adolescents
  • Adults
  • Geriatrics
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Meditech (if applicable to position)
  • Epic (if applicable to position)
  • Performance Manager/Net Learning
• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
• Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Other Requirements:
  • Ultrasound procedures, good communication, good patient care, team work, customer service, procedure flexibility and multitasking
