Overview & Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Patient Services Representative / Front Desk Clerk to join the team in Columbia, MD. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a seamless and positive experience from arrival to departure. This role is crucial in upholding our commitment to exceptional patient care and efficient office operations.

The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Korean and possess strong interpersonal skills.

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional, welcoming, and friendly manner.
  • Check-in and check-out patients, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments in person and over the phone.
  • Answer a multi-line phone system, directing calls and taking messages as needed.
  • Verify patient demographic and insurance information, making updates to the system as required.
  • Collect co-pays and other patient payments.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage patient records and ensure they are up-to-date.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Provide information to patients regarding their appointments and answer any questions they may have.
  • Keep the front desk and waiting area clean and organized.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a customer service role.
  • Bilingual in English and Korean.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting in a similar role.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
