Therapy Room Supervisors / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Verbal Beginnings is a premier provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism. The Therapy Room Supervisors at Verbal Beginnings Centers play a dual role—providing direct therapeutic services to clients and leading a team of technicians. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring staff, overseeing classroom safety and culture, assigning duties, and supporting the effectiveness of therapy. This is a Senior RBT position which requires clinical expertise and the ability to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment for both clients and team members.

Schedule, Location and Compensation
  • Location:

    This position is based in our ABA centers
  • Schedule:

    Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Shifts are 7:30am-4:00pm and 8:30am-5:00pm. Candidates must be available to work either shift.
  • Compensation: $24.00 per hour

Responsibilities

What does my day look like as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT):

  • Ensure the clients and staff are safe and in a positive environment at all times.
  • Provide direct therapy for clients in the therapy room.
  • Lead or assist with leading group instruction on a daily basis.
  • Timely and accurate completion of assigned administrative duties, including supporting material development, assisting in ongoing training programs, and converting sessions in the company’s EMR.
  • Participate in team meetings and training workshops.
  • Ensure preparedness for sessions with proper therapeutic program materials and a positive attitude.
  • Assist with training ABATs/JTs/LTs on client management when needed.
  • Act as a mentor to other technicians.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Follow Verbal Beginnings policies and procedures.
  • Direct employees in their performance of work; assign duties and tasks; make hiring decisions where required.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Supervise and direct daily activities of ABATs/JTs/LTs in the assigned therapy room, ensuring adherence to treatment plans, session integrity, professionalism, and supporting them in mastering their clinical competencies.
  • The Supervisory Team may participate in DA meetings with the Operations Coordinator and may recommend DA of technicians on their team.
  • Exercise supervisory responsibilities in the hiring process, including interviewing and assessing candidate fit.
Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Required:

    High School Diploma
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor’s Degree in related field (health care or core sciences) or enrolled in ABA Master’s program

Experience

  • Required:

    More than 1 year of experience providing ABA services full time; RBT certification in good standing
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience providing ABA services full time

Other Qualifications

  • Previous experience with or knowledge of individuals with ASD and ABA therapy
  • BLS/CPR Certification including pediatric BLS/CPR is required (must obtain prior to or shortly after hire)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to growth and development in the ABA field
