Job Description
Under general direction, this position provides support for student finance operations. Performs the necessary tasks as applicable to their team, such as TIV awarding, verification, disbursement and credit balance processing. This role is responsible for promoting student success through accurate and responsive processing of TIV aid and providing support to internal customers and external agencies. In addition, this position prepares a variety of reports to analyze student finance trends.
Responsibilities- Has full working knowledge of processes, procedures, and policies related to the current role and applies them.
- Has learned and applied advanced Title IV knowledge with minimal guidance, including troubleshooting and providing recommendations.
- Generate and analyze report data.
- Identify trends within student finance and analyze reports and root causes.
- Use knowledge to anticipate potential questions or risks and proactively communicate potential resolutions.
- Review and assess current processes and procedures, suggest process improvements, and assist in the implementation of change including training of other colleagues.
- Presents report findings to management and explains any unusual changes.
- Ability to escalate concerns.
- Assist in any database or student finance system conversions with student finance management and the IT department.
- Own processes on the team and be responsible for execution including mentoring colleagues and developing technical skills while increasing student finance knowledge.
- Holds oneself accountable for meeting team objectives and individual deadlines/SLAs. Bring concerns with meeting deadlines to leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- 2 years of experience in student accounts and/or financial aid preferred
- 2 years of experience in an analytical position preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Title IV Funding and Student Finance policy
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to produce reports and interpret data
- PC skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with databases and internet applications
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, adapting to the audience
- Proactively solves problems by asking questions, listening, verifying information, and staying solution-focused
- Eligible to obtain and maintain systems access to the NSLDS system (must not be in default of Title IV Federal aid)
The expected salary range for this position is between $18.70 and $32.86. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors such as experience and training, geographic location, licensure and certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibility.
