Junior Structural Engineer

• Field Inspections: Assist senior engineers in performing structural inspections of bridges, culverts, and roadway structures.
• Technical Documentation: Learn to prepare comprehensive structural inspection reports that meet state and federal standards.
• Design Support: Provide critical support for structural design projects, learning the ins and outs of project life cycles.
• Public Safety: Play a direct role in maintaining the infrastructure that keeps Maryland moving safely.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Certification: Must possess an
  Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certification or have the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hiring.
• Core Traits: A strong desire to learn, a positive "can‑do" attitude, and a natural ability to work within a supportive team.
• Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Mobility: A valid driver’s license is required for field visits.

• Prior internship or coursework involving bridge and ancillary structure inspections.
