Systems Engineer

Overview

Big Bear.ai is seeking a energetic and organized System Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be actively involved in the entire lifecycle of complex systems, from initial design and integration to deployment and maintenance. You will play a key role in driving our mission forward by ensuring our technical architecture is robust, scalable, and aligned with program goals.

• System Design & Integration: Contribute to the architectural design and integration of complex, enterprise‑level systems
• Documentation: Develop and maintain project documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and test plans
• Task Management: Utilize strong organizational skills to track and manage technical tasks and milestones
• Infrastructure Management: Support the implementation of strategic plans for infrastructure management and automation
• Collaboration: Act as a technical point of contact, collaborating between the engineering team and program management

• Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI w/Polygraph
• Education & Experience:
  • 3 years of experience in a systems engineering role with a B.S. in a technical discipline, or 4 additional years of experience in place of a degree
• Technical Expertise:
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles
    , standards, and the full development lifecycle
  • Experience with network profiling
    , fingerprinting, and security principles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and organize technical tasks and priorities
  • Experience contributing to the design or architecture of IT systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working within a collaborative team environment

• Web Hosting Expertise:
  
  Experience with
  web hosting/monitoring
• Modern Architectures: Familiarity with serverless architectures (e.g.,
  AWS Lambda
  ) and/or containerization (e.g.,

  )
• Mobile Technology: Background or familiarity with mobile technology systems and infrastructure
• Agile/Dev Ops: Experience working within an Agile or Dev Ops environment
• Certifications: Relevant professional certifications
