Environmental Engineer, Occupational Health & Safety
We are seeking a Senior EHS Officer to lead safety initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement across our facilities and project sites. This role ensures regulatory compliance, drives a strong safety culture, and oversees field safety activities. You’ll collaborate closely with operations leadership, engineering teams, project managers, and subcontractors to maintain a safe work environment and uphold company EHS standards.
This position reports to the VP of Operations and is based from either of our facilities in Columbia or Frederick, MD.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable EHS regulations.
- Conduct regulatory reviews and advise site leadership on compliance requirements.
- Perform advanced hazard assessments and analyses, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments.
- Lead field hazard mitigation activities and verify corrective action completion.
- Provide oversight on material handling and equipment safety.
- Facilitate instructor led safety training to employees, field teams, and subcontractors.
- Lead site inspections and safety audits.
- Respond to incidents; conduct or co-lead root cause investigations and develop corrective actions.
- Lead emergency preparedness drills and ensure readiness of fire, evacuation, and first aid systems.
- Partner with operations, engineering, project managers, and clients to integrate safety into planning and execution.
- Maintain EHS documentation including hazardous waste records, manifests, and SDS files.
- Communicate field safety trends, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive EHS experience, ideally in electronics manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of OSHA, hazard control practices, and equipment safety.
- Experience with forklift/manlift safety, machine guarding, and LOTO practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with JHAs and incident investigation tools.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Must be a U.S. Person able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Preferred - CESO certification or additional EHS credentials (CSP, CHMM, CIH).

The total compensation for this position is $68K-$102K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
