Fire Sprinkler Designer

Think is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer for their client in Pasadena, MD.

Responsibilites:

• Take jobs from conceptual planning through technical design, layout and approval
• Design fire sprinkler systems using AutoSPRINK program
• Collaboration with project management, estimating and field teams
• Quality control of fire sprinkler submittal packages to the AHJ and customer
• Preparing fabrication lists and field drawings for installation
• Understanding and adhering to both NFPA standards and local AHJ requirements
• Transparent communication with customers and internal team members
• Working to build and mentor current and future design team members
• Performing 3D modeling/clash detection using design software e.g., Navisworks

Qualifications:

• NICET Level II (Water Based Layout) minimum requirement (open to level 1-5)
• 5+ years of design experience in the fire sprinkler industry (open to experience from 2-5+ years)
• Prior management or leadership experience preferred
• Knowledge of AutoSPRINK design software required
• Knowledge of NFPA, IBC, VCC and other local code requirements
• Ability to interpret other drawing packages and specifications
• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and initiative
• Ability to work independently to meet or exceed deadlines
• Team player with ability to collaborate with other departments
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong use of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
