Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks highly motivated Software Test Engineers to join our team in Columbia, MD. The software test team ensures reliability, security, and requirement compliance for the Minotaur Mission Processor. This system integrates multiple sensor and data sources into a single common operating picture (COP).

• Devise and apply testing procedures for HII’s Minotaur product and external vendor deliverables.
• Review software requirements and prepare test scenarios.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input on requirements, design, and potential issues.
• Create, develop, execute, and close tests.
• Analyze test results regarding database impacts, errors or bugs, and usability.
• Perform moderately complex analysis and troubleshooting.
• Design manual and automated test procedures.
• Prepare reports documenting software testing activities for the design team.
• Support system integration events on various aircraft during ground and flight tests.
• Potential to fly on aircraft for system integration, test, and operator training.
• Willing to travel 10‑20% of the time.
• Apply principles, practices, and procedures used in test engineering.

Minimum qualifications vary by level.

• Senior Software Test Engineer (Software Quality Engineer
  3): 5 years experience with a bachelor’s degree; 3 years experience with a master’s; 0 years with PhD/JD; or 9 years with high school diploma.
• Software Test Engineer (Software Quality Engineer
  2): 2 years experience with a bachelor’s; 0 years with master’s; or 6 years with high school diploma.
• Software Test Engineer, Associate (Software Quality Engineer
  1): 0 years experience with a bachelor’s; or 4 years with high school diploma.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience working within a Linux environment.
• Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or related language.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance.

• Active US level Secret clearance or higher.

May require working in office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environments. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
