Application Engineer, Wireless Device Testing - Maryland​/DC Area

Rohde & Schwarz USA (RSA), the US subsidiary for our global company based in Munich, Germany, is looking for a highly motivated Application Engineer in the Baltimore/Washington area. The individual in this role would work directly with end users of R&S test solutions to help customer organizations achieve their goals. This person would also collaborate with account managers to achieve internal sales goals and drive revenue from local wireless test customers.

Most AE workdays are expected to be onsite in the customers’ labs.

• Provide technical support and consulting for R&S software and hardware products to local wireless test customers
• Support and troubleshoot 4G & 5G network operator test plans, including data performance, protocol and RF tests
• Collaborate with local sales team to help drive customer engagement and satisfaction via onsite product demos, customer support and technical training
• Collaborate with worldwide support organization to track and resolve customer issues
• Deliver technical feedback to R&S development teams and product line to drive product enhancements, new features and future development

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree
• Experience working with test equipment including radio communications testers, spectrum analyzers and signal generators
• 5+ years experience working in a development, test or application engineering role
• Experience working with 5G  LTE mobile communication systems, data centric protocols and IMS applications
• Experience with executing and debugging Tier 1 network operator test plans
• Automation experience with common programming and scripting environments (Python, C/C++, etc)
• Strong focus on customer success with excellent communication skills
• Must reside in the Baltimore/Washington area
• Domestic and International travel – up to 15%
