Job Details Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive, detailed project estimates and bids from blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

Analyze and comprehend project plans and specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.

Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.

Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.

Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.

Maintain a comprehensive database of current and accurate pricing information.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimation.

A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is preferred.

Proven experience in project estimation, project bidding, and blueprint reading.

Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Proficiency in relevant estimation software.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little oversight.

Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
