Overview
Leidos is seeking a Procurement Director to lead our Direct and Indirect purchasing team within our Global Supply Chain organization. This role is responsible for developing, supporting, and executing sourcing strategies and operations. You will manage supplier relationships and ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining compliance with corporate policies, laws, and regulations. The Director ensures strategic alignment between sectors and complex procurement networks, driving best-in-class performance in cost, quality, risk management, speed, and supplier performance.
Responsibilities- Lead strategic procurement activities, including contract negotiations, supplier events, and RFX processes.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve cost, quality, delivery, and compliance targets.
- Manage supplier relationships for performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee acquisition and sourcing compliance, including contract management, risk mitigation, and adherence to corporate and regulatory standards (e.g., FAR/DFARS/AMS, ISO).
- Advise leadership on procurement strategies, contractual rights, and obligations.
- Drive savings initiatives, process efficiency, cycle time reductions, and working capital optimization.
- Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Drive and support category management for services, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate procurement and compliance documentation and systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align procurement goals with business objectives.
- Support quality initiatives impacting the sourcing and procurement process.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, or related field (master’s preferred).
- 12+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing, including leadership roles in high volume procurement operations or a Masters and 10 Plus years of experience.
- Strong negotiation, financial, and analytical skills.
- Expertise with government and commercial acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS).
- Partner with category management and material planner teams to ensure operational practicality of category strategies.
- Implement technology solutions to drive acquisition improvement activities to enhance margin and improve service levels.
- Working experience with Costpoint
- Working experience with Ivalua
- Working experience with application of AI within the procurement process
