Junior Accountant

Office:
At least three days per week in the office located in Columbia, MD

As a Junior Accountant, you will work under the supervision of the Controller to perform various accounting tasks, such as commission reconciliations, turning purchase orders into invoices, communicating with co-workers and manufacturers, and reconciling general ledger accounts.

• Reconcile vendor commissions between the manufacturers monthly payments and Chesapeake Lightings internal ordering system.
• Assist in maintaining financial records and general ledgers by recording transactions, journal entries, and adjustments accurately and timely.
• Prepare and process invoices, bills, expense reports, and other financial documents for payment or reimbursement, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
• Assist in implementing and enforcing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external vendors, and auditors to provide information, resolve issues, and support the timely completion of financial audits and reviews.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to accounting systems, workflows, and procedures to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in handling financial information, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and confidentiality policies.
