Senior Accountant

Overview

Responsibilities and related activities are as described below. Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Columbia, MD. The Accountant supports a diverse range of accounting functions, including fixed asset management, lease schedules, reconciliations, monthly close and audit inquiries by following approved accounting policies and procedures.

• Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling various General Ledger Accounts; assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements
• Analyze Financial Reports
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve process, efficiency, and outcomes
• Forecast and plan for future needs
• Reconciles select balance sheet accounts monthly in accordance with GAAP
• Maintains fixed assets and prepares depreciation reports for Association
• Maintains schedule of leases including roll forward
• Provides insight into collections and trends
• Prepares monthly journal entries as assigned
• Assists in preparation of annual audit and ensures compliance with all internal processes

• Interact with a high level of professionalism and accountability
• Provide cross-training within our team and to our locations as needed
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
• Other duties as assigned by CFO and Controller

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting with aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• 3+ years of experience in accounting with knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
• Ability to develop and use spreadsheets and standard business software systems
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to inform both orally and in writing
• Exhibits strong leadership skills;
  Possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
