Crane Crew Technician

Overview

Electrical and mechanical repairs, inspections, maintenance, and installation of overhead cranes, jib cranes, and gantry cranes. Perform modifications and upgrades on cranes.

Responsibilities

* Perform monthly crane inspections

* Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair tasks of all electrical/mechanical crane systems

* Operation mobile equipment including fork trucks, extending boom fork trucks, man lifts and overhead cranes

Qualifications

Required

* Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining AC/DC drives and PLC electrical control circuits

* Must know basic AC/DC motor theory

* Must have a strong safety record, good attitude with proven mechanical ability, good communication, and problem-solving skills

* Self-directed with the ability to work in a team or individual setting

* Ability to work at heights

Preferred

* Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance of production equipment and machinery, familiarity with radio controls, PLC's and AC/DC drives

* Familiarity with the installation and alignment of motors, brakes, couplings, and gearboxes

* Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
