Overview
The Concast Crew is responsible for operating the coiler and support equipment, banding coils, preparing necessary paperwork for shipment, and maintaining supplies such as pallets. This position operates the mill side and booth, and all functions necessary to operate the combustion system and melt copper, including loading the furnaces. The role includes loading and operating the Rotary furnace, performing team operations such as start ups, roll changes, band changes, wheel changes, and cleaning the casting operation parts.
Routine operation of powered industrial equipment (forklifts, skid steers, and the silent hoist) and maintaining housekeeping in the assigned area are also required. Identify problems in the casting process and take corrective action, including forms and paperwork. Perform required support functions such as installation/removal of the launder system and snouts, burn bar to clean furnaces, and taking temperature readings at the Rotary furnace with temperature-reading equipment;
repair refractory as needed in snout, launder system, etc.
