Overview
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Hospital Patient Reception Supervisor to oversee Primary and Specialty Care Patient Access operations within the Patient Access Services unit. The incumbent will supervise staff responsible for patient authorizations, referrals, pre-registration, and registration activities for ARMC’s Primary Care and Specialty Care Clinics, ensuring timely access to care and a positive patient experience. In addition to directing staff, the incumbent will perform administrative duties such as coordinating daily workflows, monitoring performance, supporting staff training, and working with clinic and operational leaders to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Duties- Supervise and direct the work of staff; assign, review, and evaluate work; prepare and/or sign performance evaluations; participate in hiring decisions; and initiate or recommend disciplinary actions as appropriate.
- Participate in the preparation, administration, and monitoring of annual budgets; develop budget justifications; monitor budget performance; and recommend corrective actions for budget variances.
- Prepare policy and Board agenda items, develop, review, and recommend policies and procedures as requested by the department manager.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee departmental training and staff development, ensuring compliance with County and State regulations.
- Participate in work groups and meetings; conduct administrative and operational analyses; and collect, analyze, and present data to support management decision-making.
- Prepare and maintain administrative reports, records, correspondence, and related documentation in support of departmental operations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE- OPTION 1: Two (2) years of full-time experience within an acute care hospital patient reception, patient access, or admitting department with primary responsibility for analyzing, interpreting, and making recommendations to management in one or more of the following areas: patient reception and registration workflows; inpatient admitting processes; insurance verification and front-end revenue cycle processes; compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA, CMS, and DHCS regulations as applicable to patient access;
operational policies and procedures; staffing or workflow analysis; performance metrics or quality improvement initiatives. - OPTION 2: Two (2) years of full-time professional-level experience with primary responsibility for analyzing, interpreting and making recommendations to management in a combination of the following areas:
Budget/Financial Analysis;
Requests for Proposals/Contracts;
Analysis and Interpretation of Quantitative Data.
One (1) year of lead or supervisory experience over support services staff, which includes responsibility for assigning work, providing training, monitoring performance, and/or participating in performance evaluations. Lead or supervisory experience must be in a hospital or healthcare operational setting.
REQUIRED EDUCATION- Option 1: A completed Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Behavioral/Social Science, or other relevant field of study.
- Option 2: A completed Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a qualifying field of study as stated above and at least two (2) years of additional experience supporting management or professional-level administrative or operational staff within an acute care hospital patient reception or patient access experience, as described in required experience Option 1.
