The Traffic Control Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining traffic control operations. This includes overseeing traffic control operations, lane closures, road closures, and setting signs and devices. The supervisor may operate a variety of vehicles, hand tools, and power tools, clean sites, remove waste materials, and interact regularly with the public.
Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain certification as a Traffic Control Supervisor through CCA or ATSSA.
- Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed; follow all safety rules and regulations at work zones and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices.
- Operate pickups and flatbed trucks (no commercial driver's license required) and miscellaneous hand tools in accordance with safety regulations; conduct routine equipment maintenance and daily inspections.
- Supervise flaggers and ensure adherence to company standards.
- Complete daily logs (vehicle, time, project, etc.) accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a clean job site by picking up all tools and equipment and securing the site each day to eliminate hazards.
- Handle material storage, loading, unloading, hauling, and lifting.
- Ensure all tasks comply with applicable company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- Proven ability within the traffic control industry.
- Knowledge of correct use of equipment, materials, and supplies for heavy/highway construction traffic operations.
- Working knowledge of CDOT M & S Standards and Part 6 of the M.U.T.C.D.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, insurable through company insurance.
- DOT medical card required upon hire.
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment fit‑test and drug screen.
- Meet FMCSA English proficiency requirements under 49 CFR 391.11(b)(2).
