General Purpose Of Job

Provide a variety of routine and complex professional social work duties around child abuse and neglect, and youth in conflict.

Essential Job Functions

Permanency Casework
  • Works with families in court involved cases and non-court involved cases.
  • Performs on-going needs assessment with families, children, and/or youth.
  • Establishes goals. Develops and implements a written plan for services with objectives, action steps to achieve the objectives, and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborates with family and professionals involved in the case.
  • Collaborates with assessment caseworker during transfer period when an assessment transitions to a longer-term case and is being received in the permanency unit.
  • Provides detailed, accurate and timely documentation in statewide client information system (TRAILS).
  • Monitors progress according to plan objectives.
  • Works with families to develop and implement a plan for services, support planning and interventions such as safety planning as needed to assure the safety in the home.
  • Ensures referrals to services are made.
  • Attends and participates in court hearings as needed.
  • Follows applicable State Rule & Regulation, County and Department policies and procedures.
  • Participates and facilitates other professional meetings throughout the duration of the case and is actively involved in Family Engagement Meetings.
  • Transports clients as necessary or required.
  • Responds to after-hours crisis calls as required, including the on-call scheduling rotation.
  • Determines what services and interventions will assure the safety in the home.
  • Coordinates with supervisors on critical decisions.
  • Performs On-Call duties.
Intake Casework
  • Assesses allegations of child abuse & neglect and conducts assessments in the youth-in-conflict program area.
  • Performs global needs assessment with families, children, and youth to assure the safety in the home.
  • Works with families, children and/or youth to identify and connect to services to mitigate risk and promote well-being.
  • Establishes goals. Develops and implements a written plan for services with objectives, action steps to achieve the objectives, and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborates with professionals involved in the case.
  • Collaborates with permanency caseworker during transfer period when an assessment transitions to a longer-term case and is being received in the permanency unit.
  • Provides detailed, accurate and timely documentation in statewide client information system (TRAILS).
  • Monitors progress according to plan objectives.
  • Attends and participates in court hearings as needed.
