The Apprentice Carpenter is an introductory role within the Carpenter category focused on learning steel framing, window installation, floor installation, and Hardi Board/siding installation for modular homes. Cross‑trained across four interchangeable subcategories, the Apprentice assists with basic tasks under close supervision, develops foundational blueprint understanding, and builds safe work habits in a production environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Steel Framer:
Learn measuring, cutting, and assembly techniques; assist with preparing and installing steel frames; build basic blueprint familiarity and safe tool use. - Window Installer:
Learn measuring, aligning, and sealing techniques; assist with preparing and installing windows; follow installation guidelines and safety protocols. - Floor Installer:
Learn measuring, cutting, and securing flooring; assist with preparation and installation; follow blueprints and safety protocols. - Hardi Board/Siding Installer (Interior & Exterior):
Learn measuring, cutting, and securing panels; assist with installation; follow safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace. - Follow safety guidelines, including PPE use and hazard prevention.
- Support maintenance of tools, equipment, and a clean, safe workspace.
- Collaborate with team members to learn production processes and contribute to team goals.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Basic communication and teamwork skills; attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training in carpentry, construction, or related fields.
- Basic exposure to carpentry, construction, or installation work.
- OSHA safety training or related certifications (e.g., NCCER).
- Onsite at Mytikas Industries’s production facility in Florence, Colorado.
- Fast‑paced, collaborative environment with hands‑on training and mentorship; PPE required (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hard hats).
- Schedule:
4 days per week, 10‑hour shifts (40 hours total).
- Competitive hourly pay within the posted range ($21.00–$23.00/hour).
- Hands‑on training across multiple carpentry subcategories with a pathway to Journey Carpenter based on skill development.
