PhD Intern - Trapped-Ion Quantum Computing Theory - 632
We are seeking a PhD Intern in Trapped-Ion Quantum Computing Theory in our Broomfield
, Colorado location. All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.
- Apply previous experience in research to help measure and improve quantum computers using trapped ions as qubits
- You will work alongside teams of scientists to bring new concepts to life.
- You will be responsible for working in a research environment to collect data on system performance, characterizing device characteristics, and propose methods for improvements.
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program
- Graduating on/after December 2026
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
- 2+ years' experience (PhD inclusive) involving one or more of the following areas: atomic physics, quantum benchmarking, quantum information, quantum computing.
- Experience performing simulation and modeling to inform experiments
- Experience with constructing quantum circuits
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results within their field of research
Compensation: Non-Incentive Eligible. Estimated Salary Wage: $24/hr to $35/hr.
