Location: Berthoud

Berthoud Animal Hospital, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is looking for an experienced part-time Client Services Representative / Veterinary Assistant to join our team. At Berthoud Animal Hospital, we provide quality and compassionate veterinary care to pets in the Berthoud and Loveland, CO areas. Our veterinarians provide services for dogs and cats including wellness care, internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery.

Since we established our animal hospital, it has been our mission to serve the pets of the Berthoud, CO community and ensure that they live a long, healthy life.

Pay Range is $16.00 to $18.00 per hour.

Schedule:

Monday 12:00 – 5:30;
Tuesday through Friday 2:00 – 5:30. Possibility of picking up additional shifts in the future.

Overview

This is primarily a Client Services Representative role, with about 40% of the time performing the duties of a Veterinary Assistant. The ideal candidate will have both client service and veterinary assistant experience. This is a dynamic position that requires flexibility, compassion, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

CSR Responsibilities

  • Manage the front desk by greeting clients, checking patients in/out, scheduling rechecks and signing visitors and vendors in.
  • Oversee the clinic.
  • Manage and assist clients in the euthanasia paperwork.
  • Discuss payment choices with clients.
  • Process Daily Estimate Report (Out Window CSR).
  • Assist with daily administrative duties such as printing schedules, pulling charts, filing, emailing medical records, distributing daily mail and purging charts.
  • Maintain knowledge of extension numbers to reach employees throughout the clinic.
  • Assist in emergency situations by expediting calls to triage staff.

Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms and assist in appointments with doctors.
  • Take history from client. Perform physical assessments and record observations legibly in medical record.
  • Educate clients on preventative healthcare recommendations and provide follow up.
  • Communicate any patient or client concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide and monitor nursing care as requested by veterinarian for patients admitted to hospital, including medications (all routes) and monitoring.
  • Admit and discharge patients to hospital by following all admission and discharge protocols. Educate clients on admit/discharge.
  • Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, hospital wards and other areas as requested.
  • Must have proficient knowledge of practice software for dispensing veterinarian approved medication, patient food, printing treatment sheets, discharge instructions, cage card labels, x-ray and lab labels, recording communication with client and doctors, and others as directed by veterinarian.
  • Must have clear understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
  • Perform client callbacks and updates as requested.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year working within a customer service environment.
  • Must be computer literate; basic computer skills with ability to navigate new systems.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or similar setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology.
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from veterinarians and senior staff members.
  • Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals.
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
