Director Veterinary Quality
This role will be based out of Banfield Pet Hospital's Coloradomarkets.
Salary Range: $132,172 - $229,561 annually.
The pay range listed reflects a general hiring range for the area, with the specific rate determined based on the candidate’s experience, skill level, abilities, and education, and may vary depending on location and schedule.

Responsibilities- Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
- In partnership with the ACOS, drive a successful and growing doctor team through recruiting, gathering referrals, and hiring.
- Ensure the delivery of an exceptional onboarding and mentorship experience. Consult with operational partners on doctor risk, staffing needs and compensation.
- Develop and lead the Area Chiefs of Staff (ACOS) to ensure care delivered in our hospitals meets industry, regulatory, and Banfield quality standards.
- Drive market performance to deliver outstanding, high quality medical care that aligns with the six domains of quality (safe, effective, patient/client centered, timely, efficient and equitable care) and meets practice OGSMs related to the delivery of care and quality KPIs.
- Oversee implementation and auditing of medical quality programs, ensuring adoption to help drive success, and consulting with field and hospital leaders as appropriate.
- Work with Field Directors & Hospital Leaders to oversee the safety of clients, associates and pets by ensuring hospitals comply with all safety procedures and regulations.
- Work with Field Directors & Hospital Leaders to ensure hospital operations meet all local, state and federal regulations.
- Lead efforts for DEA and radiation safety and compliance.
- Travel to assigned markets and perform regular hospital visits to assess and validate the delivery of care and performance of ACOS and veterinary provider teams.
- Develop productive relationships with veterinary medical colleges to meet the long-term recruiting needs for the practice, partnering with (or serving as) University Liaison and Central Team Support as needed to deliver on these plans.
- Manage the market level medical equipment budget and oversee maintenance and calibration of medical equipment.
- Actively participate in local, state, and national veterinary organizations to cultivate relationships within the veterinary profession (i.e., regulatory boards, vendors, associations, and referral hospitals) to promote a positive image of the practice and Banfield’s brand reputation.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
- Project timelines and work volume / deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
- Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
- Environment where pets are present.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent foreign degree is required.
- Five years practicing in small animal veterinary medicine and surgery practice expertise.
- Two years’ experience in hospital leadership.
- Five years’ experience in multi-location veterinary management.
- An active veterinary license in good standing is required for every state in which they oversee hospitals.
