Duties
* Exercises AODR functional responsibilities in preparation for AO decisions.
* Chief of Cybersecurity. Oversees the development of IT security strategies and advises upper-level management and executives on applying and adapting such new IT security strategies, methodologies, tools, technologies and concepts.
* Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with USAFA, DAF/CIO, HAF/A1X and SAF.

* Disclosure of Political Appointments
* May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
* Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
* Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.
* Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
* A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
* Master of Science degree in Information Assurance or Cybersecurity is highly desirable.
* Current certification to comply with DoDD 8140.01 Level III Information Assurance Manager [IAM] requirements (e.g. Certified Information Security Management (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)) is required.
* Ten or more years of experience in Cybersecurity, with an emphasis in Assessment and Authorization (A and
A); * (formerly known as Certification and Accreditation (C and
A) is required (to comply with DoDD 8140.01 Level III Information Assurance Manager [IAM] requirements).
* Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL v3) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications are highly desirable.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
* This is a Centrally Managed position in the Cyber and Information Career Field.

EXPERIENCE:
Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12 or equivalent in other pay systems which includes independently evaluating program operations, interpreting and applying regulatory guidance, preparing detailed reports and briefings for leadership, coordinating with internal and external partners to address mission needs, and providing expert advisory support to enhance organizational effectiveness.
