Sex Offender Treatment Provider – Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans for sex offenders.
  • Conduct psycho-sexual evaluations for community corrections, parole board, and treatment providers.
  • Prepare parole board assessments and assist in release decisions.
  • Participate in support education meetings and standardized training workshops.
  • Provide crisis intervention, consultation, and review records and interviews to assess level of sexual violence, treatment needs, and amenability.
  • Deliver intensive treatment using group therapy (RNR) and supplemental individual therapy, status reviews, homework reviews, and feedback.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid, active license from the State of Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • One (1) year of licensed or license candidacy experience with current valid licensure from the State of Colorado in LSW, LPCC, SWC, or LMFTC, with experience in the mental health and/or sex offender population.
Special Qualifications
  • Clinicians providing sex offender treatment must apply with the SOMB within 30 days of hire.
Required Competencies
  • Self-control, ability to work in stressful, potentially violent situations.
  • Remain alert, emotionally stable, and mentally resilient under pressure.
  • Tolerance to stress, confinement, and high‑stakes interaction.
  • Maintain a valid license from the State of Colorado.
  • Conduct crisis assessment and counseling utilizing therapist manuals, protocols, and agency/facility security policies.
  • Effectively interact with offenders and communicate fluently in English.
  • Create accessible documents and technical content that follows plain language guidelines with accessibility in mind.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mental health counseling with the inmate population and crisis intervention experience.
  • Experience conducting suicide risk assessments.
  • Listing with the SOMB as a treatment provider (Sex Offender Treatment Provider).
  • Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be 21 years of age; possess a valid driver’s license; high school diploma or GED; felony convictions; legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Successfully pass all modules of the Colorado Department of Corrections Basic Training, including English reading comprehension, competency assessments, and written/practical exams in Defensive Tactics; demonstrate physical ability to complete Defensive Tactics and meet all safety and security requirements.
Background Investigation and Drug Screening

Successful completion of a background investigation is required. A drug test will be administered to all new employees; employees must successfully pass. Random drug screening will occur throughout employment.
